PRP PROCEDURE PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. Your blood is made of four main components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. PRP is created when most of the red blood cells and some white blood cells are removed from the plasma and platelets. This results in 5-8 times the numbers of platelets in the plasma.Platelets are the first cells involved in wound healing, carrying several growth factors that stimulate healing and tissue regrowth. This leads to increased blood flow and tissue regeneration in the area PRP is injected, which could include areas of hair loss. PRP can be used either alone or in conjunction with low light laser therapy for hair restoration and hair transplantation. When used alone, PRP injections can stimulate existing hair to grow thicker and quicker. When used in conjunction with hair transplant, PRP injections can increase the graft survival rate and encourage earlier growth.
