Service Description

The VI Peel is a medium-depth medical peel that combines TCA, salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol, and vitamin C to resurface skin, improve texture, treat pigmentation, and soften fine lines — all in one 30-minute in-office treatment. Safe for all skin tones. Targets: • Melasma and hyperpigmentation • Acne scarring and active breakouts • Fine lines and mild wrinkles • Dullness and uneven texture Expect 3–5 days of visible peeling (light flake to medium sheets), revealing noticeably brighter, smoother, more even skin. Typically done as a series of 3–4 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT TO EXPECT 30 minutes. Skin is prepped, peel solution applied in 2–4 layers until desired frost achieved. Mild tingling/warmth is normal. Peel is self-neutralizing — stays on the skin for 4–5 hours post-appointment. Peeling begins day 2–3 and lasts 3–5 days. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PREPARATION & AFTERCARE Before: • No retinoids 5–7 days prior • No waxing/tanning 1 week prior • No active cold sores (antiviral if prone to HSV) After (critical): • Do NOT wash face for 4–5 hours after • Peeling starts day 2 — do NOT pick or pull flakes; let them fall naturally • Gentle cleanser + heavy moisturizer + SPF 50+ only • No makeup for 24–48 hours • Avoid sun, sweating, saunas for 7 days • No retinoids or acids for 7–10 days post-peel Downtime: 3–5 days of visible peeling. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREQUENTLY ASKED Q: How visible is the peeling? A: Medium — expect sheet peeling around nose/chin/mouth days 3–4. Most clients work from home days 3–5. Q: VI Peel vs SkinSeuticals Peel vs Keilance Hokkaido — which do I need? A: VI Peel is medium-depth, best for pigmentation/scarring/lines. SkinSeuticals is gentler (no visible peeling), for maintenance. Keilance Hokkaido is brightening-focused. Your provider will match to your goals. Q: Is it safe for darker skin? A: Yes — VI Peel is one of the safest medium-depth peels for Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin. Q: How many do I need? A: 3–4 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal results. 1–2 per year for maintenance. Q: Will I break out after? A: Some purging is possible (days 3–7). This is congestion clearing, not new acne. Q: Can I peel before a wedding? A: Yes — book at least 3 weeks before so full peel completes and skin settles.
